The Agta people live in Sierra Madre, the biggest remaining of native forest in the Philippines. Due to its important biodiversity, that area was transformed in a National Park. Despite its status, the Sierra Madre National Park is under enormous threat. Mining and logging companies can obtain consents from the local authorities to operate inside the park. There is a Committee with 32 members, responsible for managing

the park, and the Agta have 12 seats in it. Unfortunately, the Agta normally cannot attend the committee meetings, because these meetings are in English and/or Tagalog language. The Agta people faces other serious threats, like the Churchchanging their lifestyle and believes; Farmers planting Rice in their territory and convincing the Agta to farm; APECO, a big dock that the goverment wants to build in Casiguran region.
